Why did Jessie become a doula?
Jessie became a doula because she saw there was a need for this service. As a doula she wants to encourage moms to find their own unique birthing story.
Women have been giving birth for years, but each story is different.
She enjoys helping moms discover who they are, and who they want to become. Giving birth brings life and we enter into a new adventure of womanhood. It truly is a blessing to serve women during this time of their life. Her role as a doula is not one size fits all. She has learned that women will benefit differently from her services.
Her role as a doula is universal, in the fact, that she serves the mom.
That does not change between clients. She provides unconditional support during the mother’s pregnancy, labor, and postpartum recovery. Moments Bayou wants to help improve maternity outcomes and help moms birth without fear.

Jessie grew up in college station, Texas and ended up in West Monroe, Louisiana where she met her husband, Toby. Toby and her met in a small coffee house. She regularly studied and worked there while attending graduate school at the University of Louisiana Monroe. Her husband has worked for TEC out of Jackson, Mississippi for the last 25 years. She fell in love with him because he is loyal and a great father to his children. Jessie became a stepmom to Tyler and Kady. Since then, Jessie and Toby have added three boys to the Trichell family.
The Trichell boys keep Jessie on her toes because they are all close in age. Her boys are Eli (7), Carson (5), and Owen (3). Jessie never thought she would be a SAHM mom because she wanted to pursue a career. However, God had other plans. She has embraced them wholeheartedly and is now a homeschool mom to all her boys. Jessie homeschools all of the boys because two of children have learning disabilities. The Trichell Family is not defined by the labels and diagnoses.
Jessie is passionate about helping others going through the same struggles she has been through or currently working through.
Jessie’s interests are writing, devotionals, audible books, gardening, family, netflix, walking, traveling, cooking, Bob Marley, and wine. Also, she is passionate about advocating for apraxia, birth options, and suicide awareness. Jessie’s lifetime goal is to write a book. She believes life is too short not to stop, breath, relax, and listen. She enjoys writing for Magnolia Moms and helping other moms in whatever capacity she can.
